With her faithful stuffed companion, Cow, by her side, a young girl named Paige tells the story of how she and her family cope when a hurricane comes to town. After evacuating to her cousin Beth's house, she returns home to find the house intact, but her most prized possession destroyed. Her dismay soon turns to thankfulness when she learns of the misfortune and loss of others. While the hardship of living without electricity provides Paige with insight into how good life is, her family and faith, mixed with a healthy dose of thankfulness, provide the reader with a story of overcoming unexpected change, told through the eyes of a child.
